Humboldt County’s Isaac Mori took the top spot in boys cutting, as the Nevada High School Rodeo Association made a stop in Battle Mountain from Sept. 25-27.

Mori finished second in both performances, but his average in both rounds was good enough to place atop the standings. He had 68 points in the first performance and 69 in the second. Mori placed third in the reined cow horse average, as he finished third in each performance with 142.5 and 144 points, respectively.

Cooper Hill was fourth in the cutting average, scoring 61 points each performance.

Billy DeLong finished second in the steer wrestling average, after winning the first performance. He didn’t have a time in the second performance. As Elko’s Logan James move ahead of him with two complete runs. DeLong was ninth in tie-down roping and he turned in a third-place finish in the first day of team roping.

Lexi Garijo placed fourth in the breakaway roping average with a time of 16.100 seconds. Emma Garijo was seventh in the average at 17.020. Emma Garijo placed 13th in the barrel race average in a time of 39.441 and Lexi Garijo was 5th at 35.323. 

Emma Garijo took home the top spot in the pole bending average at 42.347. She was third in the first performance at 21.396 and she won the second performance at 20.951.

Sierra Fears was 15th in the pole bending average with runs of 33.360 and 22.904.  She was 22nd in the barrel racing average and 24th in breakaway roping.

In the junior high division, Matti DeLong was third in barrel racing and sixth in breakaway roping, while Brynn Barto was 13th in barrel racing and 12th in breakaway roping.

Barto and DeLong were sixth and seventh, respectively in goat tying. Barto placed fourth in ribbon roping and DeLong was eighth in pole bending. 

Logan Marshall placed eighth in breakaway roping. 

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club will be in Elko this weekend.
