After sitting home and practicing for much of September, the Lowry High School soccer team is now making up for the time off in a big way.

The Lady Bucks were on the road last week for four matches, which included two crossover games and two in the Northern 3A East. 

Lowry went 2-1-1 in those four matches to improve to 3-0 in the Northern 3A East, 1-2-1 in crossover matches and 5-5-1 overall.



North Valleys 6, Lowry 2

Lowry traveled to Reno on Monday, Sept. 26, to make up a previous match against North Valleys that was postponed earlier in the season. 

The Panthers used four first half goals to lead 4-1 and went on for the 6-2 win.

Alia Novi and Britain Backus scored for the Lady Bucks, while Maite Avalos and Natalya Guizar added assists. Abagail Magana had seven saves on the day.



Lowry 2,Hug 2

Lowry was back in Reno the following day to take on Hug, the league leader in the Northern 3A West. After a rough day the before, the Lady Bucks bounced back for a 2-2 tie.

The Hawks led 1-0 after 40 minutes of play, but Katlyn Esquibel added a goal in the second half for Lowry and the Lady Bucks used an own goal by the Hawks to earn the tie. 

Novi and Backus each had an assist and Cleo Fowler had 11 saves.



Lowry 2, Dayton 1

Lowry began its Lyon County swing this past Friday in Dayton and earned 2-1 win over the Dust Devils. The Lady Bucks led 1-0 at halftime and picked up goals from Novi and Esquibel on the night. Novi also had an assist and Fowler had two saves.



Lowry 2, Fernley 0

The long week on the road came to an end on Saturday afternoon, as Lowry picked up a 2-0 victory over Fernley to stay undefeated in the Northern 3A East.

For just the second time this fall, Lowry was on its home field to play Spring Creek on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time.

Lowry travels to Elko on Saturday for a 11:45 a.m. start and will be in Fallon on Tuesday, Oct. 11, for a 3:45 p.m. start.
