The Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club played a Gross/Net Tournament for “Rally for a Cure” last week. The ladies playing gave some extra dollars to go to a local cause. The consensus from the club was to donate the extra dollars this year to the Lorena Bengoa Cancer Walk.

Sixteen players competed for either Low Gross or Low Net in each of the three flights.

Shelly Drake was the low gross winner in the first flight at 96 and won $11.67. Di An Putnam was low net in the first flight at 73 and also won $11.67.

Carole Doughty was low gross in the second flight with a round of 109 and won $11.67, Della Domingo (74) was low net and won $11.66.

Jerry Ann Fenkell took the top spot in the gross division in the third  flight with a score of 117 and won $11.67. Mary Lou Curti was low net with a score of 74 and won $11.66

Drake and Gail Piquet each had chip-in,each winning $5 and there were three players tying for fewest putts, Terri Kracaw, Della Domingo and Mary Lou Curti. Each will receive a ball for their excellence in putting.

Despite the smoke in the air the day was perfect for play.
