The Lowry High School girls golf team held on to its run of winning four straight Eastern 3A tournaments, but had a partner join them atop the standings on Tuesday, March 23, in Fallon.

Spring Creek tied Lowry for the top spot at Fallon Golf Course, with each school shooting 429.

Elko was one shot back at 430 and Fernley (453) and Churchill County (477) rounded out the team scores. Dayton did not have enough players for a team total, with just two players.

Elko’s Gabby Bement won her fourth individual title in a row, shooting a 93. Churchill County’s Lainee Reed was second at 94 and Spring Creek’s Holland Miller (96) and Jordan Miller (99) were third and fourth, respectively.

Lowry freshman Piper Nichols was fifth over, shooting 101 on the day. Junior teammate, Bailey Hayes placed sixth with her round of 104.

Kaitlin Hales and Angelina Martinez tied for 11th, shooting 112.

Lowry leads the 3A East League standings with 16.5 points, while Spring Creek is second at 11.5. Elko (11), Fernley (5) and Churchill County (2) complete the team standings.

Lowry traveled to Spring Creek on Tuesday and results were not available at press time.
