The Lowry High School boys soccer team had its weekend cut in half when its scheduled match at Truckee on Friday was postponed because of dense smoke from the Mosquito Fire in California.

The match will be attempted to be made up.

Lowry was able to make its way to Reno on Saturday afternoon to play Reno in a Northern 3A crossover match.

The Huskies play all their other sports in the Northern 5A, but due to rubric realignment they are in the 3A in boys soccer.

Lowry had its chances to score in the opening 40 minutes, but trailed Reno 1-0 at the break.

The Huskies added to their lead at the beginning of the second half and went on for the 5-0 win.

The Buckaroos dropped to 0-3 in Northern 3A West crossover play.

Lowry returns to its home field on Friday and Saturday to play Bishop Manogue and McQueen, respectively.

Action gets underway at 3 p.m. on Friday with the JV match and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
