Winnemucca Convention & Visitors Authority

Amidst the chaos of the past several months, our hometown of Winnemucca, Nevada really stepped up, banding together to take care of each other.

The local businesses continue to experience an outpouring of support in an effort to keep our economy rolling.

Traditionally Winnemucca benefits from a variety of special events throughout the year.

Unfortunately, over the past few months many of our events like Shooting The West and the Run-A-Mucca Motorcycle and Music Festival were canceled.

As we venture into the summer season, events will slowly begin to headline once again in our rural Nevada town.

The 35th Annual Silver State International Rodeo held June 28 through July 5 at the Winnemucca Events Complex (WEC) will be the first!

Over the next week, Winnemucca will greet hundreds of teenage rodeo contestants, along with their families.

Thankful for this much needed boost to the local economy, the Winnemucca Convention & Visitors Authority (WCVA) invites the entire community to provide them with the genuine hospitality that Winnemucca is known for.

The WCVA and WEC staff have been working alongside the producers of SSIR to prepare the facility for the event.

Taking into consideration both the federal and state guidelines in regards to Covid-19, measures such as health screening, sanitation and social distancing have been put in place.

The staff strives to do as much as they can to ensure that both our visitors and our community stay healthy.

While restaurants, casinos, and retail businesses can only accommodate half of their normal capacity, it may require patience from all parties to navigate services. Winnemucca has built an outstanding reputation across the West for friendly service and small-town charm.

With the help of local businesses and the community as a whole, the Silver State International Rodeo is sure to be a great event for all.
