The following business items were addressed at the June 23 city council meeting, with all council members present: 

• Kona Jensen and Charlie Engstrom were unanimously reappointed to the Historic Resources Commission. 

• Herbert Ross was unanimously appointed to the Regional Planning Commission. 

• A request for a temporary closure of Winnemucca Boulevard from Model Te Motel parking lot to East Winnemucca Boulevard intersection on Thursday, July 4, 2020, for the Silver State Rodeo Parade was approved unanimously. 

• A proposal for fiscal year 2020-2021 recreation facilities and pool management agreement with Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows dba Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca was approved unanimously. 

• A request to transfer $150,000 in fiscal year 2019-2020 general fund contingency funds to the public safety function was approved unanimously. 

• A request to augment fiscal year 2019-2020 retiree health insurance fund ($2,000) was approved unanimously. 

• Terms and conditions including salaries, benefits and fiscal impact of Winnemucca City Employees Association Collective bargaining unit agreement for fiscal years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 were approved unanimously.

• Terms and conditions including salaries, benefits and fiscal impact of Winnemucca Police Officers Association collective bargaining unit agreement for fiscal years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 were approved unanimously. 

• The Fiscal year 2020-2021 position and salary range table for city employees was approved unanimously. 

• The city of Winnemucca was allotted approximately $1.4 million in ARES funding that must be used for COVID-19 related expenses. City Manager/Engineer reported that funds were being used for the fast team assembled during the pandemic and that its likely that all of the funds won’t be spent by the end of the year unless the city uses the funds for a grant program which is in the works to support local businesses impacted by the pandemic.
