Emergency responders were called to a vehicle fire on Bridge Street in Winnemucca on Monday, January 4, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. after a fire ignited underneath the hood of a 1979 F250 while it was being driven. According to Lieutenant Chad Farstveet, the owners of the vehicle believe the fire may have started due to a carburetor leaking fuel. No injuries were reported, responding agencies included the Winnemucca Police Department, Humboldt County Sheriffs Office and the city of Winnemucca Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters had the fire out and the road cleared by approximately 5:08 after the truck remains were towed away.
