At approximately 1:23 a.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement officers were dispatched to CB Brown’s True Value Hardware in Winnemucca and found the front door area glass broken, as well as a glass case where approximately 25 handguns had been taken. The investigation is currently ongoing and as of presstime Thursday morning there had been no arrests or recovery of the missing guns.

Winnemucca Police Department Captain Pam Coats said that officers were dispatched to the hardware store on an alarm and found a glass gun case smashed and the individuals had already fled. Reports indicate the stolen guns were a mixture of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.

According to video surveillance it appeared there were three individuals involved in the incident and leads were continuing to develop as to suspects and location of the missing weapons.

Investigations are being conducted by the Winnemucca Police Department with assistance with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

“They (ATF) were amazing, they helped us follow up on some great leads, they’re just an awesome resource for us,” said Coats.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact the Winnemucca Police Department at 775-623-6396.
