Woman to complete inpatient program with extended probation

Jessica Graciela Lopez was recently ordered to complete an inpatient rehabilitation program after violating the terms of her probation less than two weeks prior to the end date of her three-year probation sentence.
Lopez appeared in court on Tuesday and admitted to two probation violations, including the use, purchase or possession of illegal drugs and not following the directives and conduct outlined in the probation terms.
Lopez was originally convicted of being under the influence of a controlled substance in December 2016 and sentenced to one to four years in prison with 64 days credit for time served.

Woman given probation after burglary arrest

Jessica Woods, age 29, of Carlin was given 36 months of probation and a suspended one to three year prison sentence following an attempted burglary at Players Bar in Winnemucca in July.
Woods and Shannon McCoy, age 44, of Elko were arrested following the report of a burglary at Players Bar.
When officers attempted to arrest McCoy and Woods, the couple led law enforcement officers on a high speed chase through city streets and highways that ended near I-80 mile marker 168 where the vehicle crashed into a slough off the Humboldt River.
The couple swam across the river to elude officers and were located and arrested the following morning by law enforcement. Both McCoy and Woods were charged with several charges including burglary, eluding officers and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Multiple agencies were involved in the pursuit of both suspects including the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Highway Patrol and MedX AirOne helicopter.

Second person arrested in July drug raid sent to prison

Ruben Santillan Barrera, age 23, will serve five to 12.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for felony drug trafficking charges. Barrera was one of three individuals arrested in the July multi-agency drug raid in Winnemucca that resulted in the seizure of approximately 487 grams of methamphetamine, 149 grams of black tar heroin, 68 grams of cocaine, 188 grams of marijuana and four firearms.
Original charges against Barrera included a trafficking level III–Cocaine category A felony, possession of a controlled substance–methamphetamine category E felony, possession of a controlled substance for sale–marijuana category D felony and one count of own/possess firearm by an illegal alien or mentally ill person category B felony.
