  • Man sentenced to jail on conspiracy to commit burglary

    Donald Gordon Sokolov Jr., age 37, was sentenced to a maximum 364-day jail sentence recently after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary, a gross misdemeanor in Nevada. 
  • Man sentenced to life in prison on drug trafficking

    Gustavo Carrillo was recently sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 10 years following a guilty plea to a category A felony charge of trafficking in a controlled substance level three. 
    Carrillo, age 43, was one of three arrested on felony drug trafficking charges in July 2019 after a multi-agency seizure of approximately 487 grams of methamphetamine, 149 grams of black tar heroin, 68 grams of cocaine, 188 grams of marijuana and four firearms. 
    Carrillo was originally charged with seven different felony charges including two level three trafficking charges that carried the potential of a life sentence on each count.

    Three individuals were recently ordered to complete drug court and a diversion program to avoid a felony conviction after pleading guilty to drug charges in Sixth Judicial District Court in Humboldt County. 
  • Man tries to make alcohol in jail, gets more jail time

    Robert Edward Ross admitted to furnishing a weapon, fascimile or intoxicants to a prisoner, a gross misdemeanor and was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail. 
    Ross, age 34, admitted to contributing to making pruno, an illicit alcoholic beverage with another inmate while incarcerated at the Humboldt County Detention Center on another charge.

    Edwin J. Garcia was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine after failing to register as a sex offender in Humboldt County recently.
    Garcia was charged with one count of conspiracy to fail to update sex offender registration, a gross misdemeanor in Nevada that carries a maximum 364-day jail sentence and up to $2,000 fine.

    Jessica Money, age 21, was ordered to complete five years of probation and given a felony conviction recently after failing to complete the 18-month Humboldt County Adult Drug Court program.
